Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith
I am Board Member and Trustee of the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith a cultural venue which is the civic and creative heart of West London. The Lyric is 125 years old and houses a theatre designed by Frank Matcham, constructed in 1895. Housed in building designed by Rick Mather Architects, it comprises a learning centre, rehearsal spaces and restaurant. The building is known to be one of the largest cultural venues in West London promoting the arts to young people and the local communities. As well as providing strategic governance for the organisation I am also responsible for providing guidance on the upkeep and renewal of the building and in particular ensuring that the sustainability targets are met.
“Harbinder is a great asset to a board and contributes in many ways. He applies his design and architecture expertise in a pragmatic way, recognising the funding constraints faced by charities and is always happy to leverage his extensive contacts to support the organisation.”
